Frederic Ric Stanley is a graduate of the University of Connecticut, where he received a Bachelors of Art degree. While at UCONN, he was a member and officer of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and was No. 1 on the UCONN NCAA Squash Team, competing with other universities in the Northeast part of the United States.
Ric came to Florida in 1967 upon news of his father's serious illness. Following his father's passing, Ric decided he would stay in Florida and enrolled at the University of Florida Law School in Gainesville. He earned his Juris Doctorate (JD) degree two and half years later and was admitted to the practice of law in Florida in 1970. He worked all through law school and at one point managed the Reitz Student Union at UFLA while carrying a full load of courses.
In 1972 he became an Associate General Counsel of the Southeast Mortgage Company in Miami, Florida, in charge of residential mortgages. In 1973 he became an Associate at the law firm of Ribben, Swann & Glass, Coral Gables, Florida, with primary responsibility for restructuring complex commercial loans throughout the United States. It was during this period that he was a featured speaker for legal seminars for attorneys in different parts of the United States regarding hi-risk real estate investments. In 1974, he moved his family to Seminole County and has been here ever since. In 1975 he was admitted and qualified as an attorney and counselor of the United States Supreme Court.
For several years thereafter, he practiced as a lead partner in law firms with offices in Orlando and, later, in Seminole County dealing primarily in commercial transactions and civil litigation.
In 2007, deciding to down-size and focus on the areas of practice he most enjoyed, Ric founded what has become the Law offices of Frederic Stanley Jr., P.L. The firms primary focus is foreclosure defense, and Chapter 7 bankruptcies with a strong interest in business transactions and civil lawsuits.
Today, Ric is devoted to keeping local residents in their homes. He believes everyone has the right to obtain sound legal representation regardless of social economic status. To further this goal he created the Low fee format program and became active in the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society, ultimately becoming its president in 2010.
